A commissioned piece is a collaboration.

We will start by having a conversation, so I can get to know what you’re looking for and how the piece will function in your life and your space. 

Inspiration for a custom piece comes from getting to know the person it’s made for, and getting a feel for the “energy” they want to experience through a piece of art. 

I create pieces that are meaningful to the client and that help anchor a certain vibe that you want to enjoy.

About the process for a commissioned piece?

  1. Contact me at contact@patricia-black.com to inquire. 

  2. Let me know what you have in mind, if anything. (Some clients prefer to leave it fully up to me and allow me to surprise them and delight them).

  3. Let me know if there’s a particular space that you have in mind for this piece and the type of color, lighting, etc. in that space.

  4. Desired size and medium for the piece, if you know it. 

  5. Shipping address

  6. I will send you a proposal for the piece.

  7. Payment terms: 50% deposit due upon agreement to the proposal. Balance due upon completion of the piece.

We can have a phone conversation if you need to clarify any of the above.

What will be decided in advance? Color palette, size, motif, media, etc?

  • media,

  • length of time for completion of the piece

Do you offer framing?

No frames at this time. The piece will be sent to you in its original medium, and you may frame it afterwards. For works on canvas, I paint all edges so that pieces can easily be hung without framing.

Do you offer worldwide shipping?

I’m currently shipping within the US. For overseas shipping, please inquire.

The client is responsible for shipping costs. 

I will give you an estimate of shipping costs along with the price of the piece. And I’ll give you an update on the shipping cost once I’m ready to send it.
